Astra, the Crypto Decentralized Exchange and Peer-to-Peer marketplace, offers a novel platform for users to engage in secure and efficient cryptocurrency trading. Its initial design will offer users unique shared liquidity opportunities, as well both a liquid DEX and a static P2P marketplace.
A decentralized exchange (DEX) is a type of cryptocurrency exchange that operates without the need for a central authority. This means that users can trade cryptocurrencies directly with each other, without having to go through a third-party intermediary.
To facilitate trades, DEXβs like Astra create liquidity pools (LP). These pools are essentially smart contracts that hold a specific pair of cryptocurrencies, allowing users to trade between them. Liquidity providers (LPs) deposit their cryptocurrencies into liquidity pools in exchange for a share of the trading fees generated by the pool. This provides liquidity to the DEX, making it possible for users to trade quickly and efficiently.
