Validator nodes are crucial components of the AirDAO blockchain, responsible for approving transactions and maintaining the network's integrity. This section will walk you through how these nodes work and how to set one up.
AirDAO uses a ‘proof-of-authority’ (PoA) consensus mechanism. This means that validator nodes must stake a certain amount of $AMB to participate in transaction validation. Apollo Masternodes, responsible for validating each transaction written onto the blockchain are the permissioned nodes that guarantee the truthfulness and immutability of all data uploaded onto the network.
To set up a validator node, the node owner needs to stake a significant amount of $AMB. Staking involves locking up these tokens in the network to support transaction validation. By validating transactions, they earn staking rewards, providing an incentive to maintain their nodes and contribute to the network's security.
